About Me
My counselling experienceI started counselling nearly 20 years ago as a volunteer for an alcohol project in London. I qualified with a Diploma in Counselling in 1996 from the University of the West of England and I am now a Senior Accredited Counsellor with BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy).
For a number of years I developed my counselling practice while still working full time for advice and homelessness charities. I now work as a counsellor part –time in private practice and part –time in an Occupational Health service. I also work for a couple of Employee Assistance Programmes
I became a Counselling Supervisor in 2005 following my supervision training at Bristol University and offer supervision to counsellors both in private practice and in agencies
This year I have trained in Level 1 EMDR and would like to develop this further.
Other interests
I have an allotment and enjoy growing my own vegetables - weather permitting! Last year I completed a HNC in Fine Art and I am now learning about textile art. I am also a member of the Gasworks Choir which is a large accapella community choir of about 150 people.
All of these things I find very therapeutic and enable me to maintain a healthy work-life balance
